It's Birthday Time! Welcome to Zaiden's Jungle Safari

When I started to map out Z's first birthday I knew I was going the Safari direction. After all, it is also his nursery theme. I knew I wanted to go big. Go big or go home, right? Welcome to Zaiden's Jungle Safari
Banner made by me. I may invest in a cricut for the next go around. The palm trees on the left side were made by Gma Hernandez. Our Little Family!

We had his party at the park I grew up at. We ran that park back in the days. I was actually excited to have Z's first party there. It brought back tons of child hood memories.

Our guest entered in from the Westside of the building. It was pretty plain from the outside. With the exception of the most adorable sign made on Shutterfly. Image taken by Lisa Marie Figueroa Photography.

DECOR I wanted colors that popped. I went with an orange, yellow, green and brown scheme. The room was completely decorated with leaves on the floor and vines hanging everywhere. I made the centerpieces from boxes I found on sale at Party City, some fresh green grass (shredded paper), brown paper and a little animal (orientaltrading.com). We added some more grass to the table tops. The Birthday boy station. The birthday boy enjoying his cake! THE CAKE: Was a labor of love from Tia Lain-Lain. The cupcakes were two part dad and Tia Lain-Lain. The cupcake toppers were ordered from Etsy (ajzdelights) On the table tops was kettle corn and Each guest was asked to sign Z's guestbook animal crackers. Yum, Yum, tum. All pictures in the book were taken by Lisa Marie Figueroa Photography THE FOOD: On the menu was a few of Z's favorit'es Leapoard Spotted Pie: Pepperoni Pizza Wild Veggie Pie: Cheese and mushroom Pizza Banan-roonis: Baked macaroni and cheese Beetle Wings: Pop Chips Tropical Fruit: Pineapple, grapes, cantaloupe, strawberries and watermelon. A big hit was the drinks. We ordered The birthday boy getting his grub on! Aqua Frescas from La Sazon a local restaurant. Jungle Juice: Watermelon Fresca River Water: Pineapple Fresca What did the kids do?

Once you entered it was time to find your passport. Each child was given a passport with their picture, name and age. On the opposite side it had an area for passport stamps. The kids were encouraged to visit the different animals, play their games and get a passport stamp.

The passports were another labor of love from Mamma. Next the kids decorated their safari hats and binoculars. Stickers and colors galore. Preparing themselves to venture on to the Jungle Safari Journey.

Hats were purchased off of Amazon.com. Binoculars were made out of two toilet paper rolls and the labor of love by Gma H. Tia Lina and Cuzin B. THE GAMES: Focused on a journey the children visited 6 animals. First stop the Giraffe: Candy apple circles were tied to strings and hung down from branches. The kids had to try and eat the candies with their mouth only. Second Stop the Lion: Lion (creatively drawn by Tia Lina) is hungry. The children were given five T-Bone steaks to feed the Lion. Third Stop the Elephant: Using a homemade trunk the children had to pick up some peanuts. Retrieve 3 peanuts for a passport stamp. Fourth stop was the monkey: Mokey see, Monkey Do. They children had to open 3 secret windows and do what they monkey told them to do. Fifth Stop was the Zebra: (Toddler geared, but everyone approved) This area was set up with a ball pit, a tour bus crawler, a giraffe rocker, a learning block and other random toys. Final Stop was the Tiger: We rented the game kinectamals for the Xbox kinect. The kids had to play with the virtual tiger. Things like playing catch, teaching him new tricks and doing random games. (No picture yet) The birthday boy survived it all and had a blast. That night he was exhausted and ready for bed. He enjoyed being with family and friends. He thanks everyone for coming out and being part of his 1 year celebration. Here are some random pictures!

  1. Everything is really amazing and just like a dream birthday for every kid. Rather it's a unique one. My friend was searching for event locations and I suppose got one for his son's birthday. Will share this link with him for some suitable recommendations. Baking part and dress code can be done easily.
